During the current year 2025, the Helmand provincial police command’s Counter-Narcotics Directorate seized roughly a dozen tons of narcotics, which were burned yesterday in the presence of representatives from the governor’s office, the courts, the prosecution and oversight bodies, the police command, and several other authorized agencies.

Mullah Ezzatullah Haqqani, head of the police press office, said that in 1404 H.S. operations were conducted in Lashkargah city and several districts in relation to 203 separate cases. As a result, about 12,272 kilograms of various narcotics were seized together with 217 accused persons. Those seized narcotics were completely burned yesterday in the presence of agency representatives.

According to officials, the seized items included: 24,954 kg shisha (methamphetamine), 930.5 kg khat, 0.419 kg heroin, 254,195 kg charas/hashish, 6,282 kg “ahak”, 700 liters acid, 70 g caffeine,1.47 kg “tablet KA”, 190 kg “F”, 2,185 kg taryak (opium), 2,052 kg sod, 33 kg carbon, 33 kg black cola, 34 kg crystal, 251 kg “best”.

Officials said those arrested in connection with the narcotics cases have been handed over to the relevant Sharia courts after completion of investigations and inquiries.
