Zabihullah Mujahid: American representatives made contact with them
The spokesperson for the Islamic Emirate, Mawlawi Zabihullah Mujahid, has said that during the conflict with Pakistan, American representatives made contact with them.
Mujahid made these remarks in a video message to the media, stating that the contacts were related to a ceasefire and the halting of hostilities.
He added, “There was no need for U.S. mediation because the conflict did not last long, and the role of Qatar and several other countries came to the forefront, eliminating the need for mediation by major powers.”
This comes at a time when the United States has had no official diplomatic relations with Afghanistan since 2021, although limited contacts between the Islamic Emirate and the U.S. are occasionally made through Qatar.
