Afghanistan’s ambassador, held separate meetings with a member of Pakistan’s National Assembly and head of a delegation of religious scholars
In Islamabad, Afghanistan’s ambassador, Mawlawi Sardar Ahmad Shakeeb, held separate meetings with Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haidari, a member of Pakistan’s National Assembly and head of a delegation of religious scholars, as well as with Muhammad Talha Mahmood, a member of Pakistan’s Senate and former Minister of Religious Affairs.
According to a post by the Afghan Embassy on X, all sides discussed relations between the two neighboring countries, and the Pakistani delegation expressed satisfaction with the recently established ceasefire.
The statement added that during the meetings, it was noted that border closures harm both nations, and emphasis was placed on choosing dialogue and understanding over violence.
