Afghanistan U-17 Futsal Team to Face China in AFC Youth Championship

Today (Sunday), the Afghanistan U-17 futsal team will play against China in the ongoing AFC U-17 Futsal Championship.


According to the Afghanistan Football Federation, the match will take place at 4:30 PM Kabul time in Bahrain.


The Afghan youth team enters the match after an impressive performance in their first two games: they defeated Uzbekistan 10-2 in the opening match and secured a 7-0 victory over Bahrain in the second game.


Meanwhile, With two consecutive wins, Afghanistan’s U-17 futsal team is considered one of the main contenders to advance to the next stage of the tournament.

Today’s match began with Afghanistan batting first, setting a target of 211 runs for Zimbabwe. In response, Zimbabwe played all its overs but managed to score only 201 runs, falling short of the target. It is worth noting that Afghan player Rahmanullah Gurbaz scored the highest runs in the match with 92, followed by Ibrahim Zadran, who made 60 runs off 49 balls.

Afghanistan’s national under-17 futsal team has won the Asian Championship

Afghanistan’s national under-17 futsal team has become the champion of the 2025 Asian Youth Championship after defeating Iran. In the final match, Afghanistan’s U-17 futsal team triumphed over Iran with a score of 2–1, securing the gold medal in the tournament. Basically, this marks Afghanistan’s first-ever championship title in the history of the U-17 Asian Futsal competitions.
