Afghanistan–Pakistan talks: Agreement reached on most issues

Sources reported, that in the ongoing talks between Afghanistan and Pakistan in Istanbul, agreements have been reached on most issues, and it is expected that an agreement on a few remaining matters will also be finalized by the end of today.


However, the negotiations are likely to continue until late tonight.


On other side, the sources added that at the conclusion of the talks, a joint statement is expected to be issued regarding the extension of the ceasefire, reopening of routes, release of some prisoners as a goodwill gesture, determination of the time and venue for the next meeting, and several other related issues.

Mawlawi Zabihullah Mujahid: U.S. drones enter Afghanistan’s airspace using Pakistan’s airspace

The spokesperson of the Islamic Emirate, Mawlawi Zabihullah Mujahid, has said that U.S. drones enter Afghanistan’s airspace using Pakistan’s airspace. Mawlawi Zabihullah Mujahid stated that the Islamic Emirate’s negotiation team has also asked the Pakistani side not to allow its airspace to be used against Afghanistan. However, Zabihullah Mujahid added that the Pakistani side has gone back on its commitment in this regard.

In the end, the visiting team and delegation members expressed great happiness over H.E. Khalifa Sirajuddin Haqqani’s material and moral appreciation and considered it a great reassurance for the future, knowing that they have the attention and support of such leaders.

Mujahid’s reaction to Pakistan’s Defense Minister’s remarks: Khawaja Asif’s authority is limited to X

The spokesperson of the Islamic Emirate, Mawlawi Zabihullah Mujahid, stated that they will never respond to statements made by Khawaja Asif, as he holds no authority and his influence is limited to Twitter. Mr. Mujahid added: "We know that Pakistan does not want war, and even the political parties there are not in favor of conflict. Since they do not want war, we do not favor it either." These remarks by the Islamic Emirate’s spokesperson come after Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Asif recently made comments regarding the continuation of conflict with Afghanistan.
