Mawlawi Ahmadullah Muttaqi, Director of Information and Culture for Herat Province, met with Turkey’s new Consul, Tezcan Qazioglu, to discuss cultural relations between the two countries.


During the meeting, Mawlawi Muttaqi thanked Turkey for its assistance and cooperation, particularly through the TİKA office and the Afghan-Turk schools, and described Turkey as one of Afghanistan’s sincere and good friends.


He asked the new Turkish consul to work toward organizing more cultural and historical programs between the two nations. Mawlawi Muttaqi emphasized that strengthening cultural ties could further solidify the friendship between Afghanistan and Turkey.


He also praised Turkey’s role in hosting the recent talks between Afghanistan and Pakistan, expressing hope that the discussions would yield positive outcomes.


For his part, Turkey’s new Consul, Tezcan Qazioglu, said that Herat is one of Afghanistan’s historical and cultural cities, and he will strive to further enhance cultural and social activities in the province.


He added that Turkey is ready to expand cooperation with Herat in both cultural and commercial fields. Qazioglu also noted that the new Turkish Consulate building will be completed soon, and the process of issuing Turkish visas from Herat will begin in the near future.
