According to yesterday’s report by the High Commission for Refugee Affairs, on Monday, 2,963 refugee families, totaling 16,243 individuals, were forcibly returned from various routes across the country.
The day before, Sunday, the number of returning refugees was nearly 8,000, indicating a rising trend amid the cold weather.
In a daily report from the relevant committees, Deputy Spokesperson of the Islamic Emirate, Mullah Hamdullah Feroz, stated that the refugees were returned via Spin Boldak, Torkham, Helmand’s Bahramcha, Islam Qala, and Nimroz’s Vreeshmopal routes.
He added that the returnees received millions of Afghanis in assistance, and in addition to registration and transportation, the relevant committees also provided public awareness sessions.
