The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan has rejected claims that Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar attempted to contact Afghanistan’s Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi six times
Hafiz Zia Ahmad Takal, head of public relations at the Afghan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, wrote on X that the phone contact between the two sides took place within the framework of mutual understanding and coordination. He added that Mr. Dar initially said he was not fully informed about the situation and would call again after receiving a full briefing.
According to Mr. Takal, a second call did take place, but although Mr. Dar later tried to reach out again, the connection could not be established for various reasons.
Referring to Ishaq Dar’s recent remarks, Takal stated that such comments contradict the spirit of mutual respect and diplomatic engagement between the two countries.
