An explosion was heard in the Dory Sar graveyard area, which falls under the 8th security district of Kunduz city


At around 7:30 this morning, an explosion was heard in the Dory Sar graveyard area, which falls under the 8th security district of Kunduz city.


After the incident occurred, police from the 8th security district quickly arrived at the scene. According to initial information, a person who was transporting explosives was killed on the spot due to the premature detonation of the materials for unknown reasons.


Preliminary investigations indicate that the individual intended to carry out a malicious plan, but was killed before executing it due to the sudden explosion of the explosives.


Security forces' investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the incident, and further details will be shared with the public after the investigation is completed.

Ibrahim Sadr stresses fight against narcotics

Senior Police General Mullah Mohammad Ibrahim Sadr of the Ministry of Interior has travelled to Parwan province at the head of a delegation, where he met with local officials. In talks with security officials, the deputy minister for security stressed the importance of obeying orders, coordination among security forces, a serious fight against narcotics, adherence to uniform regulations, avoiding ethnic and linguistic discrimination, and making appointments based on merit. Further more, the ministry’s spokesperson, Mufti Abdul Mateen Qani, said the delegation also closely reviewed the performance of the Parwan provincial police command during the visit.

Fire in Kabul’s Mandawi area prevented from spreading further

Afghanistan’s Ministry of Interior says firefighters and emergency response teams prevented a fire from spreading further at a shoe market in Kabul’s Mandawi area earlier on Saturday. The ministry further said preliminary damage from the blaze is estimated at around 700,000 dollars, while fire crews were able to save property worth approximately 150 million afghanis. According to the Ministry of Interior, the fire was caused by an electrical short circuit.

A drug processing and production factory was destroyed in Farah province

Personnel of the Counter-Narcotics Department of the Farah Provincial Police Command, during intelligence-based operations, discovered and destroyed a drug processing and production factory in Bakwa district of the province. The Ministry of Interior said that 200 liters of acid and 100 kilograms of soda were seized from the factory and set on fire. It was also reported that eight individuals were arrested in connection with the case and handed over to judicial and legal authorities.
