The Afghan Ministry of Foreign Affairs has rejected and called incorrect the recent remarks made by Pakistan’s foreign minister regarding repeated phone contacts between Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Emirate, and Ishaq Dar, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister.

Hafiz Zia Ahmad Takal, Director of Information and Public Relations at the Afghan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, responded to the Pakistani foreign minister’s claims by saying that the allegation of six phone calls in a single day between the Afghan foreign minister and his Pakistani counterpart is far from the truth.

Mr. Takal added that the first phone call between the two sides took place within the framework of mutual understanding and coordination, during which Ishaq Dar expressed unawareness about the situation and said that he would call again after obtaining full information.

The second call was also made; however, Dar’s attempt to make another call the following day did not materialize due to various reasons.

The Foreign Ministry official emphasized that such incorrect statements contradict the principles of mutual respect and diplomatic engagement between the two countries.

Takal noted that the Islamic Emirate has always stressed maintaining positive relations, respect, and understanding with neighboring countries and has urged Pakistani officials to refrain from distorting facts in their statements.
