Japan’s newly appointed ambassador to Kabul, Kenichi Masamoto, met with Mawlawi Noor Jalal Jalali, the Minister of Public Health.


According to a statement from the Ministry of Public Health, Minister Jalali discussed cooperation in preventing, diagnosing, and treating non-communicable diseases, as well as in certain specialized and capacity-building areas. He emphasized the ministry’s efforts to focus not only on communicable diseases but also on preventing non-communicable ones.


The statement added that Ambassador Masamoto reaffirmed Japan’s continued support for Afghanistan’s health sector, expressing full commitment to assist in the control of both communicable and non-communicable diseases. He also pledged that Japan would continue its cooperation with the Ministry of Public Health.
