Mawlawi Noor Jalal Jalali met with Japan’s newly appointed ambassador to Kabul

Japan’s newly appointed ambassador to Kabul, Kenichi Masamoto, met with Mawlawi Noor Jalal Jalali, the Minister of Public Health.


According to a statement from the Ministry of Public Health, Minister Jalali discussed cooperation in preventing, diagnosing, and treating non-communicable diseases, as well as in certain specialized and capacity-building areas. He emphasized the ministry’s efforts to focus not only on communicable diseases but also on preventing non-communicable ones.


The statement added that Ambassador Masamoto reaffirmed Japan’s continued support for Afghanistan’s health sector, expressing full commitment to assist in the control of both communicable and non-communicable diseases. He also pledged that Japan would continue its cooperation with the Ministry of Public Health.

Afghanistan’s public health minister leaves for official visit to India

Mawlawi Noor Jalal Jalali, Afghanistan’s Minister of Public Health, has travelled to New Delhi today at the official invitation of India. According to the ministry’s spokesperson, Dr Sharafat Zaman, the purpose of the visit is to strengthen health cooperation between the two countries, exchange experiences and coordinate joint efforts. However, he said Mr Jalali is expected to hold discussions with officials from various Indian institutions, particularly those in the health sector. During the visit, the public health minister is also set to consult Indian authorities on enhancing the capacity of health workers and on the import of standard medical medicines and equipment into Afghanistan.

Afghan public health ministry delegation meets traditional medicine firms in India, stressing expanded cooperation

A delegation from Afghanistan’s Ministry of Public Health has held separate meetings with a number of companies in the traditional medicine sector during a visit to India. The discussions focused on the supply of medicines, investment, the assessment of opportunities and bilateral cooperation in the health sector. The delegation’s technical team also visited the Hamdard Educational and Scientific Foundation in New Delhi. During the meeting, officials and academics from the foundation emphasized the importance of strengthening joint cooperation with Afghanistan in the field of traditional medicine.

Pharmaceutical traders reject rumours of a medicine shortage

Maulvi Noor Jalal Jalali, the Minister of Public Health, has met representatives of pharmaceutical wholesalers’ unions, import companies and pharmacies. The Ministry of Public Health further said claims circulating about a shortage of medicines were rejected at the meeting, with participants assuring that sufficient supplies of medicines are available in the market.
