Trade With Iran Surpasses Pakistan, Says Afghan Commerce Ministry
The spokesperson of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce told Reuters that the Chabahar Port has provided facilities for Afghan traders as an alternative route to Pakistan, and traders no longer worry about their goods being delayed along the routes.
Akhandzadeh Abdulsalam Jawad stated that over the past six months, Afghanistan has conducted trade with Iran worth $1.6 billion, while during the same period, trade between Kabul and Islamabad was only $1.1 billion.
