Gunmen attacked a secondary school in north-west Nigeria
Gunmen attacked a secondary school in north-west Nigeria on Monday, abducting 25 female students and killing a school staff member.
According to the Associated Press news agency, no group has so far claimed responsibility for the incident, and the motive behind the abductions remains unclear.
Nigeria has witnessed similar incidents in the past, the most notorious being in 2014 when the Boko Haram militant group kidnapped more than 270 schoolgirls from Chibok.
