The number of people killed by floods and landslides in Indonesia has risen to 442
Al Jazeera News Network, citing Indonesia’s National Disaster Management Agency, has reported that the death toll from floods and landslides in the country has risen to 442.
According to Indonesian officials, more than 400 others have gone missing in three provinces, including East Sumatra, West Sumatra, and Aceh.
The report states that the floods have severely affected the island of Sumatra, leaving thousands of people without access to basic necessities.
Meanwhile, in Sri Lanka, recent floods have killed 193 people and left 228 others missing.
According to reports, the floods have destroyed more than 25,000 houses in Sri Lanka and displaced around 147,000 people. As a result, a state of emergency has been declared in Colombo, the capital of the country.
