Noorul Haq Anwar, the head of the Administrative Office of the President, expressed concern over a potential shortage and rise in prices of imported medicines following the closure of trade routes with Pakistan, but said that after receiving reports from relevant officials, his concerns have now been resolved.

He also welcomed reports indicating improvements in the quality and price of medicine, as well as an increase in domestic production in the near future.

The head of the Administrative Office described this situation as “one of the examples of good emerging from hardship.”

Earlier, the Minister of Public Health had stated during a ceremony that more than 200 pharmaceutical factories are currently operating in Afghanistan and that efforts to provide further facilities for the private sector are ongoing. The head of the Administrative Office expresses satisfaction over the increase in medicine production in Afghanistan.
