The United Nations adopted two resolutions regarding Palestine and the occupied Golan Heights

The United Nations General Assembly adopted two important resolutions concerning Palestine and the occupied Golan Heights.


The resolutions called for ending the occupation, preventing Israeli settlement construction, and supporting a two-state solution.


The resolution on the occupied Golan Heights was passed with 123 votes in favor, 7 against, and 44 abstentions, while the resolution concerning Palestine was approved with broad support from 142 countries.


Although these resolutions are not legally binding, they send a clear political message of international support.

Pakistan to Hand Over PIA to Private Sector Amid Economic Difficulties

Reuters has reported that a business consortium has emerged as the top bidder to acquire a 75% stake in Pakistan International Airlines (PIA). The consortium submitted the highest bid for the national carrier. The Pakistani government said, it can no longer afford to run the airline due to persistent financial losses and therefore plans to transfer PIA to the private sector.

Pakistan’s Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister, Ishaq Dar, has held a telephone conversation with Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi. According to a statement from Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the two sides exchanged views on bilateral cooperation and regional developments, and reaffirmed their commitment to close cooperation in support of regional peace and development. Pakistani traders lose more than $4 million daily

Pakistan’s Dawn newspaper, quoting exporters, industrialists and traders, reported that they are losing more than $4 million a day due to the closure of trade routes with Afghanistan. Pakistani traders said Pakistan is rapidly losing its markets in Afghanistan and Central Asia because of the continued closure of commercial routes. Meanwhile, the Islamic Emirate’s spokesman, Mawlawi Zabihullah Mujahid, said that trade routes with Pakistan would only be reopened once strong and reliable guarantees are provided by the Pakistani government.
