The Foundation Stones of Two Administrative Buildings Laid in Alborz District of Balkh Province

Local officials in Balkh province reported, that the foundation stones for the district administrative building and the police headquarters in Alborz district of Balkh province, were laid yesterday (Saturday, May 25) of this year. The projects, funded by over 17 million Afghanis from the national budget of the Ministry of Interior Affairs, were inaugurated in the presence of local officials.

According to the officials, the two buildings cover a total area of 3,500 square meters, with a 360-square-meter footprint. The police headquarters is a single-story complex with 17 administrative offices, 8 bathrooms, and a fully equipped kitchen. The district administrative building is a two-story structure with 13 administrative offices.

Food Assistance Distributed to Hundreds of Needy Families in Herat Province

In coordination with the Counter-Narcotics Directorate of the Herat Police Command, the Department for Promotion of Virtue, and the Afghan Red Crescent Society, food aid was distributed to hundreds of men and women in the city. The assistance included various food items such as rice, sugar, oil, beans, and tea.

High-Tonnage Weighbridge Constructed and Commissioned at Torkham Customs

The Ministry of Finance announced that the General Directorate of Customs has constructed and commissioned a high-tonnage weighbridge at Torkham Customs at a cost of 3.5 million Afghanis, aimed at determining the weight of imported goods. According to the ministry of finance the weighbridge measures 22 meters in length and 3 meters in width, with the capacity to measure up to 120 tons of weight. Additionally, with the installation of this weighbridge, it is expected to prevent revenue loss and overloading, while also significantly accelerating the customs clearance process for commercial goods. It is worth noting that the project was funded by the Ministry of Finance’s development budget and implemented by an Afghan company.

Use of Solar Systems Increasing in Herat

Mawlawi Basheer Mohammad Seerat, the Head of the Herat Department of Industry and Commerce, said that due to the growing demand for solar systems, the production of solar equipment is rapidly progressing in the province's industrial park. On other side, a number of Herat residents, due to the ongoing fluctuations in electricity supply, have turned to using solar systems and have installed them in their homes and commercial centers.
