The Plant Quarantine Department of the Nangarhar Directorate of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock has stopped the import of 35 metric tons of rotten potatoes at the Torkham border. The spoiled and low-quality potatoes were being imported from Pakistan by the Logar-Paktia Company.

According to officials, the spoiled potatoes were first identified by agricultural inspectors and then returned to Pakistan after confirmation of their poor quality.

Additionally, the Nangarhar Directorate of Agriculture has called on all traders to import only high-quality products to ensure that citizens have access to healthy and standard food items.

It is worth noting that the Nangarhar Agriculture Department has previously returned other spoiled and substandard goods imported from Pakistan on several occasions.
