Import of 36 Metric Tons of Rotten and Low-Quality Potatoes Prevented at Ghulam Khan Port in Khost
The Plant Quarantine staff of the Directorate of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock in Khost Province prevented the import of 36 metric tons of rotten and low-quality potatoes from Pakistan through the Ghulam Khan border crossing.
According to officials from the directorate, the potatoes were returned to Pakistan after inspection and diagnosis confirmed their poor quality and spoilage.
The source added that similar low-quality and spoiled agricultural products have been returned to Pakistan several times in the past by plant quarantine teams.
