Construction and Renovation of the Flowerbed Near the Goldsmiths' Market Around Rawza Mubarak Begins

Mostafa Mohammadi, spokesperson for the Mazar-e-Sharif Municipality, stated that the construction and renovation work on the flowerbed in front of the goldsmiths' market—from the southern gate of Rawza Mubarak to the intersection in front of the municipality—has officially begun. The project is being implemented by the Mazar-e-Sharif Municipality in collaboration with the Goldsmiths' Union of Balkh province.

Mr. Mohammadi added that the project includes concreting the surrounding curbs, constructing and installing metal railings, building a water fountain, installing lighting, paving sidewalks with stone, greening the area, and painting. The work is expected to be completed and inaugurated within two working months.

According to him, once completed, the renovated flowerbed will enhance the city's appearance and bring a unique beauty to the area.

Food Assistance Distributed to Hundreds of Needy Families in Herat Province

In coordination with the Counter-Narcotics Directorate of the Herat Police Command, the Department for Promotion of Virtue, and the Afghan Red Crescent Society, food aid was distributed to hundreds of men and women in the city. The assistance included various food items such as rice, sugar, oil, beans, and tea.

High-Tonnage Weighbridge Constructed and Commissioned at Torkham Customs

The Ministry of Finance announced that the General Directorate of Customs has constructed and commissioned a high-tonnage weighbridge at Torkham Customs at a cost of 3.5 million Afghanis, aimed at determining the weight of imported goods. According to the ministry of finance the weighbridge measures 22 meters in length and 3 meters in width, with the capacity to measure up to 120 tons of weight. Additionally, with the installation of this weighbridge, it is expected to prevent revenue loss and overloading, while also significantly accelerating the customs clearance process for commercial goods. It is worth noting that the project was funded by the Ministry of Finance’s development budget and implemented by an Afghan company.

Use of Solar Systems Increasing in Herat

Mawlawi Basheer Mohammad Seerat, the Head of the Herat Department of Industry and Commerce, said that due to the growing demand for solar systems, the production of solar equipment is rapidly progressing in the province's industrial park. On other side, a number of Herat residents, due to the ongoing fluctuations in electricity supply, have turned to using solar systems and have installed them in their homes and commercial centers.
