Construction of Roadside Channels from Kafayat Square to Past the Ring Road Project S in Mazar-e-Sharif is 85% Complete

To prevent congestion, facilitate vehicle traffic, and improve the welfare of citizens, the project to widen and asphalt the road from Kafayat Square past the ring road Project S, located in the areas of the 4th and 9th districts of Mazar-e-Sharif city, is underway with good speed and quality. The road stretches 1,750 meters in length and 15 meters in width, with a cost of over 72 million Afghanis funded by the developmental budget of Mazar-e-Sharif Municipality.

The excavation, earthworks, and channel bed preparation are nearing completion, and asphalt paving of the channels is 85% complete. Additionally, this project has created employment opportunities for more than 70 citizens daily.

Food Assistance Distributed to Hundreds of Needy Families in Herat Province

In coordination with the Counter-Narcotics Directorate of the Herat Police Command, the Department for Promotion of Virtue, and the Afghan Red Crescent Society, food aid was distributed to hundreds of men and women in the city. The assistance included various food items such as rice, sugar, oil, beans, and tea.

High-Tonnage Weighbridge Constructed and Commissioned at Torkham Customs

The Ministry of Finance announced that the General Directorate of Customs has constructed and commissioned a high-tonnage weighbridge at Torkham Customs at a cost of 3.5 million Afghanis, aimed at determining the weight of imported goods. According to the ministry of finance the weighbridge measures 22 meters in length and 3 meters in width, with the capacity to measure up to 120 tons of weight. Additionally, with the installation of this weighbridge, it is expected to prevent revenue loss and overloading, while also significantly accelerating the customs clearance process for commercial goods. It is worth noting that the project was funded by the Ministry of Finance’s development budget and implemented by an Afghan company.

Use of Solar Systems Increasing in Herat

Mawlawi Basheer Mohammad Seerat, the Head of the Herat Department of Industry and Commerce, said that due to the growing demand for solar systems, the production of solar equipment is rapidly progressing in the province's industrial park. On other side, a number of Herat residents, due to the ongoing fluctuations in electricity supply, have turned to using solar systems and have installed them in their homes and commercial centers.
