During the inauguration ceremony for the installation of a 30-megawatt capacitor bank at the Nangarhar power substation
Dr. Abdul Bari Omar, CEO of Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS), stated:
“All citizens have a right to the system. The government must provide facilities and services for the people.”
Mr. Omar added, “This country belongs to all of us. Just as the Amir al-Mu’minin (Hafizullah) has rights in this land, you also have equal rights.
He further noted that over the past twenty years, billions of dollars entered Afghanistan, yet no substantial or sustainable development was carried out that people could rely on.
He stated that Afghanistan needs a great deal of work and cannot be developed in a single day.
According to Mr. Omar, they are not sitting idly by—they are making efforts to bring electricity not only to major cities but also to the districts.
Referring to the newly installed capacitor bank, he said it will significantly reduce power loss and that the residents of Jalalabad will benefit from more reliable and stable electricity once the bank becomes operational.
