Construction of New Fire Department Building Begins in Aqcha District of Jawzjan

The foundation stone for the new Fire Department building in Aqcha district of Jawzjan province, was laid yesterday in a ceremony which was attended by Mawlawi Abdul Sattar Saber, the provincial police commander.

According to the police commander, the building is being constructed with a budget of 4.8 million Afghanis approved by the government. The project aims to enhance emergency services and improve fire-fighting capabilities in the district.

Mr. Saber described the construction as an important step toward providing better services to the residents of Aqcha and emphasized that it reflects the authorities’ commitment to the welfare and security of the local population.

Food Assistance Distributed to Hundreds of Needy Families in Herat Province

In coordination with the Counter-Narcotics Directorate of the Herat Police Command, the Department for Promotion of Virtue, and the Afghan Red Crescent Society, food aid was distributed to hundreds of men and women in the city. The assistance included various food items such as rice, sugar, oil, beans, and tea.

High-Tonnage Weighbridge Constructed and Commissioned at Torkham Customs

The Ministry of Finance announced that the General Directorate of Customs has constructed and commissioned a high-tonnage weighbridge at Torkham Customs at a cost of 3.5 million Afghanis, aimed at determining the weight of imported goods. According to the ministry of finance the weighbridge measures 22 meters in length and 3 meters in width, with the capacity to measure up to 120 tons of weight. Additionally, with the installation of this weighbridge, it is expected to prevent revenue loss and overloading, while also significantly accelerating the customs clearance process for commercial goods. It is worth noting that the project was funded by the Ministry of Finance’s development budget and implemented by an Afghan company.

Use of Solar Systems Increasing in Herat

Mawlawi Basheer Mohammad Seerat, the Head of the Herat Department of Industry and Commerce, said that due to the growing demand for solar systems, the production of solar equipment is rapidly progressing in the province's industrial park. On other side, a number of Herat residents, due to the ongoing fluctuations in electricity supply, have turned to using solar systems and have installed them in their homes and commercial centers.
