Five kilograms of beryl sold in Nuristan auction
Officials in Nuristan province said, that five kilograms of beryl, mined from Pashgardara in Nurgaram district, have been sold at an open auction for 1.81 million Afghanis (£20,000). The provincial Department of Information and Culture said that 181,000 Afghanis from the sale would be transferred to the state treasury. Nuristan’s Director of Mines and Petroleum, Mawlawi Sayed Rahim Umeir, confirmed that several traders participated in the bidding.
