Officials from the Afghan Red Crescent Society’s Herat provincial office reported, that their wide-ranging and ongoing humanitarian services continue at the Islam Qala border crossing, providing vital assistance to Afghan migrants returning from Iran.


According to a press release sent to Radio Police by the Red Crescent office, these services cover various sectors including health, nutrition, social support, and protection. They include the distribution of hot meals, bottled water, dry bread, food and hygiene kits, provision of medical care, and assistance in tracing missing individuals.

Over the past 45 days, the organization’s aid has included: Medical examinations and medication for 11,187 patients, Distribution of 168,000 hot meal packages, Distribution of 175,520 bottles of mineral water, Distribution of 69,750 pieces of dry bread, Distribution of 346 child food kits, 70 dignity kits, and 88 hygiene kits.

Further more, ambulance transport of 24 patients and 3 deceased individuals to Herat city. Tracing and reunification of 1,393 missing individuals with their families.

These efforts highlight the Afghan Red Crescent’s vital role in supporting vulnerable returnees at the country’s borders.
