A check dam costing over 3.5 million Afghanis was handed over for use In Musa Qala
Around three months ago, the Helmand Department of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock began construction of a check dam in Howskai village of Musa Qala district at a cost of more than 3.5 million Afghanis. The project has now been completed and officially handed over for use.
At the inauguration ceremony, the district governor Haji Mullah Janan Akhund, district police chief Haji Mawlawi Mohammad Nabi Mohammadi, agriculture official Qari Hanafi Mawlawi, local scholars, and a large number of residents were in attendance.
There for, this project was funded by the UNODC (United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime) as part of its anti-narcotics program, with a budget of 3,554,530 Afghanis, and was technically implemented by DACCAR (Danish Committee for Aid to Afghan Refugees).
Additionally, the check dam has a total length of about 53.3 meters and a storage capacity of 1,549 cubic meters of water.
