Sources at the Ministry of Information and Culture say a contract has been signed for the construction of a new bridge over the Helmand River in the Mokhtar area of Lashkargah’s 10th district.

Based on reports, the bridge will be 340 metres long and 9 metres wide, with a total cost of $3.2 million. According to officials, the project will be funded through the ministry’s tourism revenues and is expected to be completed within two years.
