The concreting work on the western road of the Old Prison (Cultural Park) has started in Mazar-e-Sharif

Officials from the Mazar-e-Sharif Municipality said today (Tuesday, September 11) that the concreting of the western road of the Cultural Park (Old Prison) in District 3 of Mazar-e-Sharif city, the capital of Balkh province, has begun with a budget of 3 million Afghanis from the municipality’s development fund.

Mohammad Javid Mayar, Head of the Sectoral and Technical Department of the Mazar-e-Sharif Municipality, stated that the road is 350 meters long, 8 meters wide, and costs 3 million Afghanis. According to him, the road is expected to be completed and inaugurated within two working months.

On other side, municipality officials emphasized that public support and cooperation play a key role in advancing development programs. They expressed gratitude to the residents and stressed their commitment to continue such projects to turn Mazar-e-Sharif into a standard and livable city for all its inhabitants.

Five kilograms of beryl sold in Nuristan auction

Officials in Nuristan province said, that five kilograms of beryl, mined from Pashgardara in Nurgaram district, have been sold at an open auction for 1.81 million Afghanis (£20,000). The provincial Department of Information and Culture said that 181,000 Afghanis from the sale would be transferred to the state treasury. Nuristan’s Director of Mines and Petroleum, Mawlawi Sayed Rahim Umeir, confirmed that several traders participated in the bidding.

40 Development Projects Completed in Panjshir

Saifuddin Leton, spokesperson for the Panjshir governor’s office, announced the completion of 40 development projects at a cost of more than 61 million Afghanis. According to him, these projects were implemented by the ACTED organization in Dara and Paryan districts. The projects include the construction of irrigation canals, concrete and dirt roads, protective walls, sidewalks, and stairways.

Graveling and repair work begins on 18-kilometer road in Kunduz

The Kunduz Rural Rehabilitation and Development Department, with financial support from UNOPS, has launched repair and graveling work on the main Nahr Sufi road in Chahar Dara district. However, the 18-kilometer road will be repaired and graveled, and officials say its completion will significantly ease transportation challenges for residents of Chahar Dara district.
