Modern cold storage facility built in Jawzjan province
A modern cold storage facility with a capacity of 100 metric tonnes of fruit has been constructed in At Chaper village of Sheberghan, the capital of Jawzjan province, at a cost of more than 33 million Afghanis from the Ministry of Agriculture’s budget.
However, the centre, powered by both electricity and solar energy, is due to open soon. Officials say the facility will help reduce fruit spoilage and boost farmers’ incomes.
