Parwan provincial officials said, that the Department of Public Works has launched repair work on a 20-kilometre stretch of the Parwan–Bamiyan highway at a cost of more than 32 million Afghanis. 

According to spokesman Sayed Hikmatullah Shamee, the project was inaugurated in the presence of Deputy Governor Haji Mawlawi Mohammad Abu al-Wafa Osmani and is expected to be completed within five months.
