Mullah Abdul Ghani Beradar Akhund, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs of the Islamic Emirate, officially launched the exploration and extraction work of Toti Maidan gas field in the country’s northern province of Jawzjan.

Mullah Beradar described the start of this strategic project as a clear message to the international community and investors that Afghanistan is secure and open for investment in all sectors, according to a statement from his office on Sunday.

“The Islamic Emirate, following its economy-focused policy, welcomes all potential investors and is committed to providing maximum facilitation and support to both domestic and foreign investors,” Beradar emphasized, adding that the Toti Maidan gas project will create job opportunities for many Afghans and significantly reduce domestic dependency on imported gas.

However, Mullah Beradar called on the implementing company to carry out the project with strict adherence to professional standards and regulations, ensuring transparency, efficiency, and environmental responsibility.

The project is expected to serve as a major step toward self-sufficiency in Afghanistan’s energy sector while attracting further investment and accelerating national development.
