Road construction speeding up in Mazar-e-Sharif
Municipal officials in Mazar-e-Sharif say work is moving quickly on a new road project in the city’s sixth district.
Municipality spokesman Mustafa Mohammadi said the 700-metre road, nine metres wide, is being built from Emarat Road to Panjshir Gozar at a cost of 11 million Afghanis from the city’s development budget.
Additionally, the project includes excavation, soil removal, roadbed preparation, canal construction, asphalting, line marking and other features of a standard road. Canal construction is underway at pace under the supervision of municipal engineers.
