Start of drinking water project in Ghor and Takhar
The Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development said, that the construction of work has begun on four drinking water supply networks in Takhar and Ghor provinces, with a total cost of more than 24 million Afghanis.
According to the ministry, one of the networks will be built in Qara Tapa village of Ashkamesh district in Takhar, while the other three will be established in Al-Farooq and Dolina districts of Ghor province.
The cost of the Takhar project is estimated at around 5.6 million Afghanis, while the combined cost of the three networks in Ghor is about 17.4 million Afghanis.
Upon completion, the four projects are expected to provide nearly 978 families with access to clean drinking water.
At the same time, the ministry said the implementation of the projects will also create job opportunities for dozens of people in Takhar and Ghor.
Additionally, The Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development emphasized that providing clean water to deprived areas remains one of its key development priorities.
