A meeting of the High Council of Da Afghanistan Bank, chaired by Governor Noor Ahmad Agha, discussed the implementation of monetary policies, the development of Islamic banking, payment systems, and the facilitation of financial services.


According to the bank’s spokesperson, Haseebullah Noori, in a Facebook post, Noor Ahmad Agha spoke about the effective execution of monetary policies, the overall situation of the banking sector, ongoing efforts to expand Islamic banking in the country, the digitalization of money exchange and financial service activities, and improving public access to financial services.


He stated that over the past year, the Afghani currency has maintained its value against the U.S. dollar and has shown improvement compared to the currencies of many regional and global countries.


The statement added that the High Council meeting also discussed plans and strategic priorities for the current year.
