KSRelief begins distribution of food items to 2,000 newly returned families in Kabul
With the financial support of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center of Saudi Arabia (KSRelief), the technical cooperation of the Tawhid Welfare Organization for Afghanistan Orphans (TWOAO), a series of food assistance programs have begun for 2,000 families who have returned to the country, the Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation said in a statement on Sunday.
The aid distribution programs was attended by Abdul Jabbar Abu Al-Laith, the head of the camp, Taha Noor Hashemi, a member of the Health Affairs and Services delegation of the Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation, Mohammad Amin Ramozi, a representative of the Kabul Department of Refugees, officials of the KSRelief and Tawhid Welfare Organization and a number of local journalists, the statement said.
“Each family will be provided 75 kilograms of food items, including 50 kg of flour, 5 kg of rice and beans, 5.5 kg of sugar, and 5 liters of cooking oil,” the statement said, adding that the items will be distributed to newly returned families who will arrive at the refugee camp and then be transferred to their original areas.
The KSRelif has been providing assistance to needy citizens in the country for years, as well as to families affected by natural disasters.
During the recent earthquake in the east of the country, the organization, in coordination with the Afghan Red Crescent Society and other organizations, has distributed food and non-food items to thousands of families, and it is still ongoing.
