The spokesperson of the Islamic Emirate, Mawlawi Zabihullah Mujahid, has described the launch of the process to export pomegranates to Russia as a highly valuable step from an economic perspective.

Mr. Mujahid added that with the start of this process, a new major market will be created for Afghan pomegranates, contributing significantly to the growth of the country’s exports.

The spokesperson emphasized that the expansion of fruit exports, particularly pomegranates, will increase the incomes of farmers and producers and strengthen the national economy.

This comes after, yesterday, a private company exported pomegranates from Kandahar to Russia for the first time in a container, with plans to send up to 250 tons of pomegranates to that country this year.
