Memorandums of understanding worth over 360 million USD were signed between 15 Afghan and Kazakh companies


As a result of business-to-business (B2B) meetings between Afghan and Kazakh traders and investors on the sidelines of the Afghan–Kazakh Business Forum in Shymkent, Kazakhstan, separate memorandums of understanding (MoUs) worth over 360 million USD were signed between 15 companies from Afghanistan and Kazakhstan.


The Ministry of Industry and Commerce announced that these MoUs were signed across various sectors, including petroleum products, flour, wheat, food items, transportation, detergents, pasta production, joint investments, and other areas.


During the meetings, Nooruddin Azizi, Afghanistan’s Minister of Industry and Commerce, reaffirmed the country’s readiness for broad cooperation with the private sectors of regional countries. Meanwhile, Kazakh officials emphasized the importance of expanding economic relations, developing transport links, and facilitating trade and travel between business communities of both nations.

Construction projects for retaining walls, culverts, and roads have begun in Farah

According to a statement sent to Police Radio by the Farah provincial administration, the Department of Rural Rehabilitation and Development has launched several infrastructure projects in Parchaman district. The statement says that these projects include the construction of a 100-meter-long and 2.5-meter-high retaining wall, culverts, and various roads, at a total cost of 22 million and 133 thousand Afghanis. It added that the projects are expected to be completed within six months and will provide employment opportunities for 786 local youths.

The World Health Organization has dispatched emergency medical relief teams to northern Afghanistan

The World Health Organization (WHO) has announced that just hours after last night’s late earthquake in northern Afghanistan, it dispatched life-saving equipment and emergency health services, and its relief teams are on the ground assessing needs. The organization added that this incident occurred while Afghanistan is still suffering from the aftermath of the recent deadly earthquake in the eastern part of the country.

Over the past week, more than 136,000 metric tons of goods have been transported via the railway lines

In the past week, 136,227 metric tons of goods have been exported and imported via the country’s railway lines. Mohammad Ashraf Haqshenas, spokesperson for the Ministry of Public Works, stated that these shipments were carried out through the Hairatan, Aqina, Turghundi, and Herat–Khaf railway lines.
