The Deputy Minister of Public Works Inspects Progress on Phase Two of Section Four of the Khaf–Herat Railway
Mawlawi Mohammad Ishaq Sahebzada, Deputy Minister for Railways at the Ministry of Public Works of the Islamic Emirate, has visited the ongoing construction of Phase Two of Section Four of the Khaf–Herat railway line.
During the visit, Mr. Sahebzada said that the construction work on this phase is progressing at a desirable speed and with high quality.
He added that the Khaf–Herat railway is considered one of the major and strategic infrastructure projects in the country, and upon completion, Afghanistan will be connected to international markets by rail, playing an important role in expanding regional transportation and trade.
According to officials, Phase Two of Section Four of the railway stretches 3.47 kilometers, starting from the Deh-Sorkh area and extending to the Herat Industrial City. The total estimated cost of the project is 54.6 million dollars, and the work is currently being carried out in an organized manner by the international company Gama Group.
