Officials of the Fish Farmers’ Union in Helmand province say that the aquaculture industry in the province is progressing, with monthly fish production reaching approximately 30,000 kilograms.

They added that in recent years, public interest in fish farming has increased, and over the past two weeks, more than 2,000 farms have been registered.

Further more, the union officials further noted that fish farm products from Helmand are not only sold in local markets but are also exported to Kabul, Kandahar, and Ghazni provinces.
