Reconstruction work on the Shama Roundabout in Mazar-e Sharif has begun

Local officials in Balkh Province reported, that the reconstruction of the “Shama” roundabout in Mazar-e Sharif city, the provincial capital, was officially launched in the presence of Hafiz Abdul Rahman Hemmat, the mayor of Mazar-e Sharif; Imamuddin Sanayeezadeh, head of the Chamber of Industries and Mines of Balkh; Sarwari, head of Capitan Manufacturing Company; and a number of residents.


According to Mostafa Mohammadi, the spokesperson for Mazar-e Sharif Municipality, the project includes the installation of metal railings, lighting systems, urban decorations, and other components required for a standard roundabout.


However, The purpose of this project is to beautify the city’s appearance, ensure nighttime lighting, and improve traffic management.

The Minister of Labor and Social Affairs met with Iran’s Ambassador to Afghanistan

The Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Mullah Abdul Manan Omari, met with Iran’s Ambassador to Afghanistan, Alireza Bekdeli. During the meeting, discussions focused on bilateral labor relations, the legal transfer of workers to Iran, better organization of the workforce, expansion of joint cooperation, and particularly the assessment of the situation of Afghan refugees. It is noted, the Iranian ambassador also invited the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs to visit Tehran, adding that his country is eager to engage in labor force exchanges with Afghanistan.

Afghanistan and Iran Emphasize the Advancement of Economic Relations

In Tehran, Afghanistan’s Acting Ambassador, Mawlawi Fazl Mohammad Haqqani, met with the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Iran’s Chabahar Free Zone. The Afghan Embassy in Tehran stated that during the meeting, discussions were held on expanding bilateral economic and trade relations, making better use of the Chabahar Free Zone to facilitate exports, increasing transit, and resolving existing challenges.

Afghanistan-Kyrgyzstan Discuss Cooperation in the Electricity Sector

The Ministry of Water and Energy has said in a statement that a delegation led by the ministry’s deputy minister for energy has met and held talks with the Deputy Minister of Energy of Kyrgyzstan. During the meeting, Afghanistan was described as a key connector for regional energy projects. Investment opportunities in the electricity sector were outlined, and information was shared on progress made on the CASA-1000 project. Both sides agreed to cooperate on modernising power grids, increasing electricity generation, reducing losses, and strengthening technical cooperation.
