Local officials from the Kandahar Directorate of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock say that pomegranate exports from the province to foreign countries have increased by 214 percent this year.

The Kandahar Directorate of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock recently shared this figure in a press release.

According to the department’s statistics, around 22,000 tons of Kandahar pomegranates were exported to various countries in 2025, while this figure had reached only 7,000 tons last year (2024).

However, countries such as Malaysia, Russia, Pakistan, and Uzbekistan have been the main destinations for Kandahar’s pomegranate exports.
