The Afghan–Kyrgyz Trade Connectivity Conference was held with the participation of Nooruddin Azizi, Afghanistan’s Minister of Industry and Commerce, Bakyt Sydykov, Kyrgyzstan’s Minister of Economy and Trade, and members of the private sectors of both countries.


In a press release, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce said that Nooruddin Azizi stated the purpose of holding the conference and business meetings between the private sectors of the two countries was to identify opportunities and challenges and to take practical steps to address them.


According to the statement, the Kyrgyz Minister of Economy and Trade, referring to the strategic position of both countries in the region, emphasized joint investment, transit, and bilateral trade.


At the conclusion of the conference, following business-to-business meetings between the private sectors of the two countries, commercial agreements worth more than 156 million US dollars were signed in various sectors.
